Hi to enyone and everyone! This is the first time using a forum of any kind, so i apoligize now for any wrong doing now . Im in need of a little help. What a suprise!! I have just purchased cubase 5 and everything is running perfectly ( lies i hear you cry, no,no its true ) exept one small thing! when i open one of the 2 browsers or media bay and try to load in one of the many cubase tempo locked samples to my project it always seems to load in the sample faster than the transport tempo . e.g. I drag and drop a 125 bpm beat from the media bay into my project, which I have set to 125 bpm, and it loads in the sample like a sped up record! Can anyone PLEASE help me fix this problem.

Sounds like you may have a timing issue.

When you import the loop, look into the POOL and check to see whether there is
a cross in the box under the musical mode section, if not, put one there (by clicking in the box)
this should solve your problem.

Hi Mark, many thanks for your help! but unfortunately it didnt seem to work . Putting an x in the box did toggle the musical mode off but the sample remained too fast??? I did go to the support page on the Steinberg website and it said something about a few issues cubase has with my audigy 2 soundcard wether its that or not i dont know!! Could it be something to do with the sample rate on my soundcard, or have i not set up cubase properly? I will phone them about it and post what they tell me just in case others are having this most frustrating problem aswell. TTFN

Yep it might be that the sample rates are wrong.

Cubase will normally jump to the sample rate all ready assigned by your soundcard however this is not always the case.

As far as i am aware the Audigy 2 is, by default set to 48khz and it may be that Cubase has set itself to 44.1.

So either change the audigy to meet the cubase sample rate or vice versa.
